The young woman is the spring of the new world

Perspective of the Young Woman

At a time when nature is awakening in its brightest colours, she has no time though to recover from the harsh winter.

The crisis in which the world finds itself in is reaching new dimensions. We need to consciously approach this in order to find our own way in this world, especially as young women. If we do not achieve the necessary clarity, we are in danger of losing ourselves straight away. Because only with this clarity can we develop a conscious attitude that is capable of opposing the wars of this world, which aim to push women, nature and thus the whole of society into the deepest form of oppression. The current situation in this world has not reached this boiling point through random events, but by simmering for a long time and is now gathering all its forces to write the supposed end of history.

However, this end does not write itself. The system needs servants, slaves that it trains to be its puppets in order to maintain itself. Those it robs of their identity, their own culture, their ideology. But consciousness of the state of the world alone is not enough. This consciousness must be categorised. As Şehîd Bager once wrote: "Consciousness is ideology in action, living by a standard, with a spiritual guide." The war of ideologies, which is becoming apparent in every second of the Third World War, is attempting to break the human being at precisely these points. Patriarchy as a tyranny has created a powerful ideological hegemony for itself. An ideology shapes the strategy of every system. The ideologies created, such as liberalism and postmodernism, shape an entire generation that is on its way to moulding the future. Special war tactics are used to steal the dreams, goals and utopias of the part of society that will shape the future the most, namely young women. In order to keep this system alive, it starts at this point. It moulds the young woman as it sees fit. She is completely absorbed and threatens to sink her into it. Due to the increasingly influential methods of digital media, she is dependent every second of her life on an invisible authority that shapes her opinion (or rather, non-opinion) and serves up standards for a supposedly perfect life. It determines the way she speaks, dresses, behaves, simply everything. Can we still talk about a conscious life? But how do we regain our own consciousness, which can guide us in our search for freedom?

If we develop effective tactics of self-defence against the special war, are we able to become forces of the solution in the chaos of the third world war.

This is the only way we can break out of the cycle of powerlessness and unite our voices around the world, which are already resounding to the opening melody of the revolution. All over the world, it is first and foremost young women who are taking to the streets to protest against the worsening crisis. However, the protest is rather isolated on the one hand and characterized by a lack of leadership on the other. This leadership can only develop into a guiding strength if it expresses itself in a revolutionary identity capable of connection. This requires a shared awareness of the role and mission of young women in society and in processes of change. The enormous potential of this identity is also recognized and systematically attacked by the enemy. For example, young women are at the centre of fascist propaganda by the right-wing parties that are rising up everywhere. They propagate a deeply traditional image of women and thus want to provide an answer to young women's eternal search for values and meaning in life. In doing so, they allude to the social responsibility of young women. They also capitalize on young women's deeply rooted values, such as their connection to nature and home. All over the world, we see young women taking a pioneering role in the climate justice movement. It is their voices that are shouting louder than anyone else.

It is the young women's responsibility to shape and defend their future. Her sensitive sense of her environment makes her much more aware of the effects of climate destruction. She feels the pain of this world, which is also hers. It is precisely this connection that fascist propaganda utilises, reinterpreting this deep value of love for one's homeland and solidarity, the Welatparezî, in nationalist terms. "Protect your country" becomes "Defend your nation". With these slogans, the hegemonic states are trying to fill the many empty places in their armies with young women. Their entire recruitment strategy is aimed primarily at young women in order to militarise them. All of this is aimed at stabilizing the state. This unites the hegemonic powers with their openly fascist attitude.

The militarization of society and its pioneer, the young woman, provides the ruling system with the necessary legitimisation for further wars.

The system has been driven into a corner. Where only a few years ago the voices against war were loudest, namely among young people, we are seeing an increasingly muted and absent backlash. War has become normal. Not in the regions where it is actually raging, not among the young people who are actually affected by it, not in the peoples who have no choice but to defend themselves. But in those parts of the world that can simply turn down the radio. Humanity has become emotionally numb. Emotions are being systematically stolen, taken over and replaced by others. Just as in TikTok you can switch from the most violent war scenes to the most banal cooking videos in milliseconds, so too is the relationships of young people in the heart of capitalism becoming arbitrary. But war is deeply at odds with the reality of youth and especially young women. Answers to existential questions about meaning can never be found in the military. Because what underlies war is not the protection of society, not the defence of the earth and values. It is a pure patriarchal power struggle. And this power struggle is not being fought to find solutions to the world's problems. What drives the young woman, however, is precisely this urge for solutions, for a meaningful role, because it is she who continues to feel the suffering of the world and its peoples the most. However, due to extreme isolation, which robs them of any ability to act, many fall into deep psychological crises and only withdraw even further into a virtual reality. For many, this cycle seems insurmountable. This is because the ideology of liberalism offers no real way out of it. It suffocates the young woman in superficiality.

We need to develop our own stance against this ideological war.

First of all, the strategy of the enemy must be understood. Attacks against the young woman must be clearly recognised as attacks. To do this, we must realise what is actually being attacked and why. What values are being snatched from us, what thousands of years of patriarchal tradition is behind it. This awareness will enable young women to become a political force in society. Because politics actually expresses what young women are all about. A deep connection to society and a growing responsibility to stand up for a good life for them. Being political is something that manifests itself in her identity. In this sense, however, it poses a great challenge. This is precisely where liberalism comes in. It creates supposed political identities that are actually not much more than a superficial expression of capitalist consumer behaviour. You only need to listen to the right music and buy the right clothes to fit into the "feminist" corner.

Instead of referring to the true social values that make up a political stance, only more corner are created in which you can categorise yourself and in which the system can easily control you. Another problem that becomes apparent is the very simplified enemy stereotypes that this understanding of a political stance creates. For example, one only refers to representatives of an entire oppressive system instead of being able to grasp the root and the extensive impact of fascism or patriarchy. You can't just see the enemy in Meloni or the AfD. What is behind these puppets of fascism is a very calculated strategy. By expressing itself in individual people, politicians or parties, it can very easily hide behind all the other players in the system without causing a stir or displeasure. This normalises a deeply right-wing and patriarchal politics.

The problems of the world must therefore be approached with a holistic political analysis and an expression of this analysis.

For this, the first step must be taken to get out of isolation and into the struggles for life of all. An overall understanding of the world must be built up. This universal character must be united in an identity of all young women of the world. When Abdullah Öcalan speaks of the socialist nation of women, this is precisely what he is talking about. Values that must be built up, defended or, above all, fought for are the basis for this. A universal, international network in the struggle is based on common values of culture, love, comradeship and connection to one's own people. Our culture as women materialises our communal existence, but it also creates values. In the creation of a women's nation as the supreme principle of organising the revolution, Abdullah Öcalan is the vanguard of every young woman. In him, the soul of the universe is united with the most powerful form of organising. For Abdullah Öcalan's entire existence is expressed in his life, but also in the lives of thousands of revolutionaries and an entire people. The self-development of women only develops a truth in international solidarity. For the international, global conflicts of this world also influence the reality of every woman. Therefore, a universal identity can only be built by connecting the small with the big.

So if we as young women want to understand our role and our mission at this time properly, we need to be aware of all these dimensions of the struggle that Abdullah Öcalan gave us and continues to give us every day with his relentless resistance in total torture.

A few years ago, he addressed his words specifically to young women, writing about their historical responsibility in this world. He wrote: "Their political struggle should be based on the needs of the people. It should also develop joint actions and organisational work in the anti-fascist struggle with peoples, organisations of young people and young women all over the world who are resisting like them. For this, diplomatic work has to be advanced."

In this current phase of the campaign of total annihilation of capitalist modernity, the pioneers of the revolution of the peoples guide us in our historical tasks. The women who ignite the fire of revolution throughout the world are the women who, with their struggle, the uncompromising and determined freedom revolution, ignite this fire every day in hundreds of thousands, millions of young women and thus carry it forward. It is friends like Şehîd Sara who became the thought of this struggle with their words. It is friends like Şehîd Berîvan who became the voice of the uprising with her organising power. The action of Şehîd Zîlan, who became the deed of change. With them, women in every oppressed nation around the world fought as pioneers and became our guide with their struggle.

The necessity of young women's leadership and the special nature of their resistance in this current phase is expressed by the friends Şehîd Bişeng Brusk and Şehîd Sara Hogir Riha. In their leading positions in the autonomous young women's organisation Komalên Jinên Ciwan, they led thousands of young women along the path of freedom, laying important foundations for a future in freedom. With their struggle, we remind ourselves once again of the unconditional necessity of organising, only in this way will we find the way out of this chaos. Because what characterises the struggle of these friends is finding a way out of oppression and domination. This expresses their love for the world and for life. With the spirit of these friends, the necessary unity of all young women worldwide will be strengthened and thus a determined anti-fascist, anti-patriarchal, anti-capitalist struggle will be led, forcing everything that is ugly in this world to change into something beautiful. Summer is upon us and with it countless opportunities to take historic steps in the struggle for freedom.
